Favorite Song

That's why (you go away)
Michael Learns to Rock

Baby won't you tell me why
There is sadness in your eyes
I don't wanna say goodbye to you
Love is one big illusion
I should try to forget
But there is something left in my head
You're the one who set it up
now you're the one to make it stop
I'm the one who's feeling lost right now
Now you want me to forget
every little thing you said
But there is something left in my head
I won't forget the way you're kissing
The feeling's so strong were lasting for so long
But I'm not the man your heart is missing
That's why you go away I know
You were never satisfied
no matter how I tried
Now you wanna say goodbye to me
Love is one big illusion
I should try to forget
But there is something left in my head
Sitting here all alone in the middle of nowhere
Don't know which way to go
There ain't so much to say now between us
There ain't so much for you
There ain't so much for me anymore

In his new book, "Street Food: Exploring the World's Most Authentic Tastes," Tom Kime, a chef who has worked in top restaurants in London, Sydney and Malta, reveals how to make 89 favorite dishes that he has tasted during his many trips around the globe. While the book focuses on recipes, Kime learned quite a bit more while conducting research on the streets of Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and beyond. We asked him for tips on finding the most delicious food and avoiding an upset stomach, or worse.

Follow crowds
"A line of people is always a good indicator that the food is tasty and fresh -- it never sits idle for long. If a vendor on a busy street has no customers, there's probably a reason."

Ask the locals
"The best recommendations I got were from taxi drivers, policemen, shop owners and office workers. Locals are discerning: They only eat what they like and what doesn't make them sick."

Watch it cook
"Always request that your food be cooked fresh for you. A hot grill will usually eliminate any microscopic bugs that are present. And a plate of steaming noodles is safer than food left out for hours at a hotel buffet."

Wash your hands
"There's no way to know what's on anyone else's hands, but you can at least get the germs off your own. Store a bunch of antibacterial wipes in your daypack and wash your hands frequently -- in particular, before you eat."

Fill up on starch
"If your stomach is uneasy, eat plain starchy food, such as rice, bread and noodles, until you feel settled. Bananas are excellent because they're packed with vitamins and minerals, which restore your body's internal balance."

My blogging experience

This semester I take a course of Internet English. In the beginning, I have no idea for this subject; then I get used to it. In this class we learn how to create a blog and do a lot of activities of it. In the past, I can only use Chinese publish but after I learn from this class I can use English publish. I think my English skill of computer is getting better than before. Our teacher Emma wants us using chat room to improve our English skill, but I think maybe I am very bad in typing so I didn’t get improvement in English by this way. I hope other group members could get better because they all have magic fingers. They are very good in typing. Although I didn’t improve by chatting, I learn a lot of English reading and writing skills from create a blog.

At first, we had to type some words by ourselves in English and then read some articles which teacher Emma gave us. Of course we did not well at that time, but Emma never gives up for us. She tried to explain to us in very simple and clear words. Finally, we get used to it. I think we are getting better than before.

Furthermore, Emma taught us how to use hot potato- a kind of software. I think that’s a very interesting one and it is useful especially for people who like to learn English but want to use a funny way. We just learned how to use JCloze, maybe I can learn others during my winter vacation.

In addition, I think multimedia is an interesting part. I can use HTML to format text such as insert graphics, animations, sound, and video. If people can use it properly, the design features of blog would look very fantasy.

Finally, I think I am very bad in computer, but when teacher taught us steps by steps, I can understand. It’s amazing! Maybe all the parts are difficult for me; however, if people try their best, everything would get easy. I found creating a blog is really cool and fantasy. I am very happy I had learned this skill. I hope I can use this technique in my future.

Describe my blog

My blog’s name is Sweetblog, because I hope all my family members and friends are happy. There are 13 topics of my blog. The first one is “Green hand of blog.” It talks about the feelings of my first time to create a blog. The second one is “Picture.” It is our assignment of the class and I picked a picture which I took in Thailand. The third one is “Online Dictionary.” It is the most difficult one at that time because we have to write some computer language to create a side bar. Then “ESL/EFL Resources” is also the same way to blog. Next, “Research about the weblog” has 5 questions and answers on it and I also think about how it can be used in English teaching and learning. “NBC News” is a very special one because I learned how to use HTML. “Trailer and Music” is one of my favorite. I put a resently movie’s preview of it, and also a music of christmas. Actually, “Women abused” is a serious topic. Maybe people will think “Test”is a very boring topic but it is a way for people tp learn English by games. Next I use frontpage to do this topic “Reviewing Websites.” The funny one is “Chatroom.” People can see our group members chatting in English poorly. Then I use powerpoint to gather my traveling pictures in “Travel.” The last one is my good memory of christmas. I took short films by myself and blogged it. That’s all my blog.

My chatting experience

In chat room, people usually have different ID to show their feelings or motions. It is a way people never meet anyone but want to choose a person to talk. Some people may use “I am a handsome man or I am a beautiful girl” to get people’s attention. People even hid their gender in chatting room. Some others are maybe boring and just want to have fun. A lot of people may say “Does anybody want to go out with me?” and I think it is dangerous for young people, especially for girls. Young teens have little sense of criterion, and can not stand for someone’s inducement. There are many illegal cases happened in chatting room so I think if people want to have good experiences of chatting room they must keep alert to it.

For Internet English course, our teacher Emma asked us to have an experience of English chatting with our group members. That was my first time to chat in English and also my first time to chat with so many people at the same time. There are six people in our group including Asta, Ann, Janet, Ruth, Vivian, and myself. I felt nervous because I am very bad in typing. At first, everyone joined in the same chat room and invited all the members to chat together. “I hope they could understand what I type” I talked to myself. In the beginning, we just typed few words such as hello, how R U, and OK. We were like people who have typing barrier at that moment. I felt that’s funny. I can’t stand to laugh just like a silly person. Sometimes I could not catch the words which they just typed. I can’t stop to wonder what’s going with their fingers. It was too fast for me to read. Of course I skipped so many times because I can not catch ahead. Then someone found I disappeared and the person was Ruth. She typed “Where is Angeline?” and I was so embarrass. Oh, I am really a green hand of chat room.

As you have seen, although I have a very funny chatting experience, I still like it very much. I can learn how to catch on people’s typing tempo and have good chatting memories. I really appreciate my group members. They gave a lot of support to me, and we are really enjoying this class.
